AG Paxton Appeals Criminal Fraud Indictments

Abbott still backs prison dodging AG
Earlier today, it was reported that Attorney General Ken Paxton would appeal his felony indictments to the Texas Criminal Court of Appeals. Lone Star Project Director Matt Angle released the following statement:

“Another day, another move by Ken Paxton to dodge the state penitentiary.  It’s no surprise that Ken Paxton is appealing rulings by two courts saying that he must stand trial for felony criminal fraud and other crimes.  Paxton knows that a trial laying out the details of his crimes will very likely end in his conviction and a prison sentence.

“The real question remaining is how long will Governor Abbott continue to support and prop up Ken Paxton.  Paxton is an ethics dumpster fire.  Every day that passes with Greg Abbott giving support to Paxton reveals to Texans the deep flaws in Greg Abbott’s character and ability to lead.”
