More Abbott Hypocrisy

Greg Abbott is attacking Affordable Care Act "navigators," who are individuals certified to assist people in choosing a health care coverage plan, by saying they are potential identity thieves. There’s no evidence to support the charge. It’s not even an Abbott original thought, just national Tea Party rhetoric.

There’s no evidence to support the charge. It’s not even an Abbott original thought, just national Tea Party rhetoric.

However, there is a Texas public official who has exposed millions of Texas voters to identity theft–Greg Abbott.

During the litigation involving the Texas voter ID bill, Greg Abbott shipped millions of Texans’ voting information to opposing lawyers in D.C. The records included the full Social Security numbers of at least 6 million Texans, leaving them all exposed to potential identity theft once the records were in the hands of data processors.

Fortunately, the opposing attorneys noticed Abbott’s blunder before the records were sent to a data processor. The Attorney General’s office was notified and sent a courier directly to Washington, DC to retrieve the data

Greg Abbott’s indifference and incompetence could have resulted in millions of Texans being robbed of their identities. We doubt Abbott ever thanked opposing legal counsel for saving him from his own incompetence.
