Steve Radack Doesn’t Like To Show Up For Work Anymore

Not long ago, Steve Radack bragged that he hadn't missed Harris County Commissioners Court in 5 years. He’s apparently soured on public service since then.

Not long ago, Steve Radack bragged that he hadn’t missed Harris County Commissioners Court in 5 years. He’s apparently soured on public service since then.

Radack failed to attend the last two Commissioners Court meetings – both of them dealing with important tax issues affecting problems such as healthcare and flood control to public safety and more. Radack’s most recent absence was entirely unannounced. He just failed to show up.

The Harris County Commissioners Court meets 25-30 times a year.  It is when they can formally create a quorum and cast official votes. Missing a meeting is a big deal.

If Steve Radack has a good reason for missing meetings, then he has a responsibility to share it with his constituents.  If he’s simply tired of serving on the County Commissioners Court or is too frustrated by having to serve in the minority, he should step aside and let his district choose a new commissioner who is up for the job.
