Here is the sequence of events:
First, Garcia disparages North Texas employers
Last week, at a candidate forum, Garcia attacked major North Texas employers General Motors, Lockheed Martin and American Airlines. The three companies employ over 40,000 North Texans. Thousands of these men and women belong to international labor unions such as the United Auto Workers, the International Association of Machinists and the United Transport Workers.

Then, Veasey defends local employers and workers
Yesterday morning, State Representative Marc Veasey, recognized as one of the lead candidates in new CD33, organized a press conference near GM’s Arlington plant to confirm his support for the products made and the workers employed at GM, Lockheed and American Airlines. Veasey was joined by former Congressman Martin Frost and several dozen members of local labor unions. Garcia was bluntly criticized by labor leaders for failing to support major North Texas employers.

Then, Garcia releases ranting email
Furious that Frost and organized labor leaders had joined with Veasey in criticizing him and defending local employers, Garcia released a ranting, vitriolic email filled with inaccuracies but, most damaging, included a racial slur directed at Veasey. Garcia called Veasey, a 41-year-old African American man, an “errand boy.”

And then, State Representative Rafael Anchia calls out Domingo Garcia
Upon learning about Garcia’s racial slur, North Texas Hispanic leader Rafael Anchia released a statement scolding Garcia for his disrespectful and insensitive remark and called on him to issue an apology. Representative Anchia also had the courage to call upon local Democratic elected officials to demand that Garcia apologize.
