Ad Claim 1: Brandi Croffie is an attorney who is paid by Donald Trump Campaign donors.
Claim Verification: Brandi Croffie has worked at the Houston firm of Hoover Slovacek since her admission to the Bar in 2012. According to the Federal Election Commission and Texas Ethics Commission, Joseph Slovacek and the firm of Hoover Slovacek have been reliable and generous contributors to Republican candidates and extremist causes. The campaign watchdog Open Secrets reports that 94.8 percent of Hoover Slovacek contributions went to Republican candidates in 2020, 99.6 percent in 2022, and 99.25 percent thus far for the 2024 cycle. On the federal level, Donald Trump is the primary beneficiary of Hoover Slovacek campaign largess. Since 2016, the Trump campaign received $32,200 from Slovacek. Ad Claim 2: Brandi Croffie is an eviction/foreclosure specialist who has filed hundreds of claims to remove families from their homes.
Claim Verification: Croffie has almost exclusively concentrated on real estate law, specifically, foreclosures. By and large, those cases involved representation on behalf of homeowner associations seeking to evict or foreclose on homeowners in their complexes. Between April 18, 2013 and January 17, 2024, Croffie handled a foreclosure case a little more than one every four business days, according to a Harris County bar card search. According to the Harris County District Clerk’s Office, over 60 percent – 629 – of the 1,047 cases that appear under Croffie’s bar card number (24082873) directly relate to foreclosures. Harris County families should never be burdened with cruel Brandi Croffie as their District Court Judge
- Croffie works for the law firm Hoover Slovacek that makes large contributions to the most divisive and destructive MAGA Republicans in Texas and the country. Either through the firm’s account or through its principal partners, Hoover Slovacek, have given to Donald Trump, Ken Paxton, Dan Patrick, and even to out-of-state MAGA extremist Lauren Boebert. Croffie’s associate with this MAGA-connected law firm is a blaring signal warning Harris County voters that she is unfit to serve as District Court Judge
- Lawyer Brandi Croffie is a candidate for State District Court 133 in Harris County. Her background and aggressive legal efforts to remove Harris County families from their homes mean Bradi Coffee CAN’T BE TRUSTED to rule fairly on matters important to families in Harris County.
- Croffie is an foreclosure/eviction expert. Over the past decade, she has filed over 600 legal petitions on behalf of Home Owner Associations seeking to foreclose on Harris County families. Even during the deadly pandemic when most evictions were canceled or postponed, Brandi Croffie worked to remove over 40 families from their homes.
At a time when compassion, fairness, concern for justice, and oversight of corporate abuse of individuals is badly needed within our Courts, Brandi Croffie will bring hostility and contempt to families in crisis.
