Will Abbott Continue Covering Up Texas Enterprise Scandal?

LSP has filed formal request for Texas Enterprise Fund documents
Today, the Lone Star Project filed a Texas Public Information Act (TPIA) request to Greg Abbott’s Office of the Attorney General requesting documents related to the expanding Texas Enterprise Fund fraud scandal. News reports have detailed how Abbott’s office has participated and abetted covering up improper payments of nearly one-quarter billion dollars in taxpayer funds to corporations and businesses. Abbott himself has accepted over $1.4 million in campaign contributions from those who have received the improper payments.

The Lone Star Project TPIA documents can be seen by clicking on the icons below and ask for all communication between Abbott’s office, Office of the Governor, and the Texas Enterprise Fund offices related to key recipients of Texas Enterprise Fund grants, as well as any information concerning the recently completed audit of the Texas Enterprise Fund.

Will Abbott withhold documents improperly?

There is, of course, an obvious conflict of interest for Abbott. As the State Attorney General, he makes the determination of which documents must be surrendered under all TPIA requests to state officials and agencies. Will Abbott surrender documents that confirm his involvement in the cover-up of the Texas Enterprise Fund scandal or will he attempt to withhold documents that confirm his knowledge and participation?
