Statement by Lone Star Project Director, Matt Angle, on the results of the State Senate District 9 Special Election
Congratulations to Taylor Rehmet and his team. His win in Texas Senate District 9 is a reflection of the outstanding work he’s done as a candidate and his team’s performance. The Lone Star Project is proud that we were able to support Taylor’s campaign, but make no mistake, this victory belongs to Taylor Rehmet.
This election was not about party or ideology. It was about voters embracing the message that Taylor delivered, one focused on good jobs, lower prices, lower taxes, and personal liberty. Moreover, it was a rejection of the corporate MAGA ideology that has captured Texas Republicans. Voters said no to Leigh Wambsganss because she is a Republican political operative that amplifies the most divisive forces within Texas.
These same candidates will face each other in November and I’m confident that the voters will again make the right choice and reelect Taylor Rehmet.
