Linda Harper-Brown (Republican – HD105, Irving) has been under intense criticism from constituents and local media since the Dallas Morning News and WFAA-TV revealed that she has been driving a luxury Mercedes-Benz sedan owned by a corporation that holds millions of dollars in state transportation contracts. Harper-Brown sits on a key House Committee which oversees state transportation issues.

Harper-Brown has responded to public criticism by lashing out at political opponents and issuing harsh, but non-substantive denials. Links to recent news reports as well as Lone Star Project reports providing detail on the Harper-Brown/Mercedes-Benz scandal are provided below as background.
