Carney asks an X poster to “please share” 30-year-old photos of young high school girls at a swim party.
New Hampshire native Dave Carney is not a young or inexperienced campaign staffer. He’s a long-time veteran of high stakes statewide and national campaigns. And, even though Carney is a New Englander who cut his political teeth on east coast campaigns, he has been Greg Abbott’s top political advisor and lead campaign consultant for over a decade.
Carney’s Creepy Request
So why did Dave Carney urge a random X poster to “please share” polaroid photos of Abbott’s opponent, Gina Hinojosa, at a swim party with other high school girls taken over 30 years ago?

Abbott’s Epstein/Maxwell Baggage
Even in today’s take-no-prisoner politics, it’s way off-base to solicit pictures of underage girls or boys under any circumstances. Abbott and Carney should be especially sensitive to avoid such a crass and creepy exchange given that Trump is still withholding most of the Epstein files and his pedophile accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, is cooling her heels in a club fed-style facility in Texas without a peep of protest from Abbott.
Sleazy Pros
What motivated Dave Carney to cross the line and ask for underage pics of Gina Hinojosa and her teenage friends? Did Abbott’s oppo-researchers come up empty, failing to find any legitimate criticisms? Or is the reason darker and even more cynical? Did Carney post his “please share” request to imply something sordid in teenagers simply being teenagers. An attack by innuendo. Now that is a pro move – the type of move made by cynical and sleazy “pros” who operate without integrity and for a candidate without character.
Whatever the reason, the post is wildly inappropriate. Carney should be called out, and Greg Abbott should be called on to apologize.
